Alright, so my last post idea did not, as it seems, meet with your approval. I'll choose to take it as a good thing that you who are fan enough to read blogs do not think about, watch, or cheer for other college football teams. Jackets 24/7 I guess. Well, good.
So I've chosen not to report constantly about Spring practices since I'd rather let my colleagues at other student blogs and the AJC relay that info (recommended reading links are at the bottom of my page). That being said, I'll float some of the over-arching themes I've perceived in practices, reading and talking with insiders. This is all in a mental build-up to Saturday's T-DAY game in Bobby Dodd Stadium.
I hope we see better O-line play, and I hear they are improving. I hope the D-Line keeps the intensity it needs to make up for what it had in Michael Johnson. I know the secondary is going to be great this year, and I hope our receivers benefit from that in practice. On receivers, I want to see A-backs that can actually block...and I mean really. Ferocious, aggressive, cut-blocking that frustrates and fatigues opposing defenses and paves way for some long runs. Get nasty!
Okay enough of me, what do you hope to see on T-Day this Saturday, and what do you actually expect?
Also, ask yourself how many friends and family you can invite or fit in your car to take to the game. The players, students, recruits, Athletic Department, coaches, and other fans need to see an excited crowd of interested Yellow Jacket observers. This is good practice for the Fall when we need to pack the stadium out for the big home games. You have no excuse...BE THERE!
Go Jackets!
